Cody Pyle, 27, overdosed in the middle of the street last week: Now charged with theft

Cody Pyle, 27, of Chicora was charged with the July theft of a catalytic converter from a neighbor’s car on the 200 block of Central Avenue in Chicora.

The victim told police that a witness on July 7 reported seeing someone crawl underneath the owner’s car and later leave with something in his hand, according to court documents. Police said the suspect’s description matched that of Pyle’s.

A catalytic converter is a component that isolates particles in the vehicle exhaust and incinerates them before they leave the tailpipe. It can cost between $1,000 and $2,000 to replaced.

Pyle is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of theft. Pyle Overdosed in the middle of the street last week in the City, he faces no charges for the overdose.
