Local veterans boycott NFL

American Legion Post 117 and Post 778, as well as VFW Post 249, made the decision to stop showing NFL games following players around the league kneeling in protest during the national anthem before games.

“We just find it very disrespectful that the players are not standing for our national anthem,” said Bob Spencer, commander of Post 117. “We’ve had service members serve to protect our rights. Just as (the players) have the right to do their protesting, we also reserve the right to not like their ideas.”

They will not show games for the term of 30 days

  1. Wow, a whole 30 days. If they were making this decision based on principle they’d be showing cartoon network for the entire season instead of a measly month.
