Leon Ford jury deadlocks

A Pittsburgh police officer will go to trial again next year after a federal jury this morning deadlocked on whether he used excessive force in shooting and paralyzing Leon Ford in 2012.

The jury found against Mr. Ford on a second claim of assault and battery against another officer, Detective Andrew Miller.

Lawyers for the defendants said they could not comment.

Fred Rabner, one of the lawyers for Mr. Ford, said the plaintiffs will prepare to go to trial again.
