October is domestic violence awareness month

Domestic violence is coercive, controlling behavior between current/ex intimate partners or family members and can include: physical, psychology, sexual, and financial abuse. Affecting 1 in 4 women throughout their lifetime, domestic violence does not discriminate based national origin, color, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, political belief, religion, or mental or physical disability. With the cost of intimate partner violence exceeding $5.8 billion each year.
