Azza Gaines, 38, of Concord Township was charged with driving on prescription medication with a young child in her car in Center Township.
Police said they stopped Gaines about 10 p.m. Oct. 7 after her SUV crossed the yellow line twice and the white fog line once,The cars brake lights also were not working.
The defendant failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results later showed she had the prescription anti seizure and pain medicine gabapentin in her system, documents said.
Gaines is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, child endangerment, driving without insurance, driving without valid inspection, disregarding traffic lanes, failing to keep right, careless driving and a lighting violation.
