Child Endangerment case leads to probation

Christian Reid, 28, was sentenced to 15 months probation after being charged with leaving his 4-year-old daughter home alone without parental supervision for an extended period of time.

He was initially charged with the endangerment count, as well as misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person after an incident on Sept. 30, 2014.

Cranberry Township police filed the charges after parents of a small child had left the child home alone in a residence on Route 19 while they were at work.

When police arrived, they found the mobile home dark without any lights, and when officers knocked on the door, a 4-year-old child answered. When asked if anyone else was home, the girl became scared and tried to close the door.

Officers entered the home and the child ran into a bedroom that contained a mattress on the floor beside a TV, according to the affidavit of probable cause. No one else was there at the time, and the home smelled of cat urine and feces, documents state.

  1. IF they are not able to take care of the child, the child would be better off being adopted by loving people. WHEN this child is grown, the adult version stands a good chance of living the way they were brought up. SO, the cycle continues.
