Many people have contacted Butler News after the Spirit of Christmas parade that took place in the city of Butler Saturday Night.
Everyone described the parade as a great thing to Butler residents, but many had complaints. Many who attended the parade told me that some of the City residents simply did not watch their children.
Persons that watched the parade say that children were running in front of the floats, many people are saying they waited two hours to get a good spot to watch the parade, all to be stood in front of. One woman noted that she went home after she waited for over an hour for the parade to start, saying she got a great spot to watch the parade in her wheel chair, all for multiple people just stood in front of her so she could not see the parade. When this person asked everyone to move she was ignored and laughed at.
Two people have messaged Butler News to say that parents were letting children piss right in the alleys in front of adults. One person tells me that one child about the age of 9 was encouraged to pee on the Dollar General store right on main street.
It was noted that children were throwing candy at floats, children were running into the middle of the street while some parents watched and encouraged this behavior. One child was close to being run over, in turn an intoxicated mother started screaming at the float driver calling the driver names and belittling him.
There is video on other social media pages where you can watch the video and it is clear kids are just out of control, it is clear on the video that some parents were not watching their children at all.
It is sad to say that a lot of people admitted the parade was great, but flip side is the parents were not so great last night, and people wonder why we can no longer have nice things and events on main street.
