Butler County’s Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign Hopes To Raise $98 thousand

The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign is once again underway -This years goal is $98,000.00.  A salvation army spokesperson told Butler radio that the funds are essential to keeping the Salvation Army’s programs running throughout the entire year.

“We use these funds for everything we do for the rest of the year,”  “We have to make a lot of money on this to be able to keep going.” Major Dan Hazeldine told Butler Radio.

You will find bell ringers outside 10 Butler stores this year. Salvation Army fears the loss of Friedman’s in the City of Butler and K-Mart in Pullman Plaza will hurt the fundraiser.

The Red Kettle Campaign will continue through Dec. 23. Aside from dropping money into a kettle, you can donate online (redkettleseason.org) and through text (text the word KETTLES to 51555).

Editors note: I just donated on my phone-and so should you!
