Preston Bartmas, 33, who robbed a woman for her wallet was given state intermediate punishment. SIP goes as follows 24 months in the program followed by 24 months state probation.
Bartmas previously pleaded guilty to felony robbery and misdemeanor theft.
He was initially charged with felony robbery, misdemeanor theft and receiving stolen property, police said Bartmas snatched a wallet from a 48-year-old woman’s hand as she walked on Center Avenue. The woman reported she was walking about 9:20 p.m. when Bartmas approached her from behind on Center Avenue near Cliff Street, startling her grabbing her wallet and took off running down the street, jumping into a car waiting.
Bartmas was arrested several days later and has been held in Butler County Prison on 30-k bail.
