City council wants to borrow 200-k for new cars

Butler City Council will vote at Thursday’s regular meeting to advertise for bids to borrow $200,000 to buy vehicles for several departments.

The two-year loan would be used to buy vehicles for the city’s police, zoning and code and street departments.

The city budget includes money to buy two cars for the police department.

Ford Taurus police interceptor cars cost about $23,000 and equipping the cars for police service costs an additional $5,500.00 to $6,000.00

  1. if they did not buy such junk to begin with they would last longer. most of those cars never see over 35mph. why not use the money they pocket off drug raids and the shit those officers sell on the street. I know for a fact few of them have side income. but no one ever does anything about it.
