The details of the latest contract negotiation session between the South Butler School Board and their teachers union have been made public with no progress achieved. Pennsylvania State Education Association
The most recent bargaining session occurred Thursday night and in a press release issued Friday afternoon Witt says that the board “continues to disrespect” the teachers. Witt points to a $3 million increase in South Butler’s general fund over the past four years as evidence that “the district has sufficient funds available to fairly settle the contract without a work stoppage”.
No additional negotiation sessions have been scheduled at this time and Witt says the vote has already been taken to give the union negotiating team the authorization to call for a strike if they decide it is the best course of action to take.
