HIGH COURT ALLOWS REDISTRICT PA MAP TO REMAIN IN PLACE FOR PRIMARIES

Today Tom Wolf PA Govenor said, “Thanks to two court decisions today, Pennsylvania now has a fair congressional map. This is great news for our democracy — we can now move forward from the days of partisan gerrymandering and ensure that Pennsylvania voters are heard at the polls.

Republicans opposed the Democrats redrawing the map which was a right leaning.

The White House weighs in today saying the fight will continue.

“In short, the Plaintiffs invite us to opine on the appropriate balance of power between the Commonwealth’s legislature and judiciary in redistricting matters, and then to pass judgment on the propriety of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s actions under the United States Constitution,” they wrote. “These are things that, on the present record, we cannot do.”
