Donald Roberts, 92, of Butler, dies after accident on 422

Donald Roberts, 92, of Butler died March 7th at Allegheny General Hospital of complications from blunt force trauma he suffered in a vehicle accident March 3, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office.

Roberts, driving a Toyota Prius at 11:33 a.m., was attempting to make a left turn from Game Reserve Road onto Route 422 eastbound in Clearfield Township, according to state police.

His car struck a Cadillac Escalade being driven eastbound by John Aubrey Jr., 33, of Butler, police said. Aubrey and a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old inside the Cadillac were not injured.

Police said Roberts was at fault in the accident. He committed summary offenses for vehicle turning left and careless driving. Police clearly can not charge the elderly driver, and the police saying this was pretty damn unnecessary after this tragic accident
