Butler Township Police say a 15-year-old boy was arrested and is now facing juvenile charges after writing a false bomb threat inside a restroom at the Butler Intermediate High School on Wednesday afternoon. Officers were able to quickly determine the threat was not credible.
In an email to parents on Thursday, Superintendent Brian White called the threat an “inappropriate message.” He reiterated the district takes all threats seriously and that the individual responsible in this latest case was identified and will be punished appropriately under the student code of conduct and Pennsylvania State Law. White said the district will also seek restitution for additional costs to both the school and law enforcement as a result of the threat.
He also pointed to Butler County District Attorney Rich Goldinger’s latest ‘zero tolerance policy’ for school threats. Goldinger is fine with drive by shooting though by the lack of charges after recent events in Butler City
