Lucille E. Buzard Donaldson, 87, of Evans City, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Sunday morning at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler following a period of declining health.
Born in Upper Hillville, Clarion County, she was the daughter of the late Lewis E. and Treva V. Logan Buzard.
She married Thomas Martin “Bud” Donaldson Jr., who survives.
She was a 1947 graduate of the former Parker High School, attended the former Butler Hospital School of Nursing, later became a licensed practical nurse, and at the age of 56 earned a Bachelor of Science degree in gerontology from Slippery Rock State College (now University.)
Lucille was a dedicated Christian, attending various churches in the county, but her heart was always with North Main Street Church of God. She was certified and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons and their wives, Thomas and Elaine Donaldson of Butler and Bruce and Susie Donaldson of Evans City; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother and his wife, H. Jack and Gail Buzard of Eau Claire; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Lucille E. Buzard Donaldson, who died Sunday, April 15, 2018, will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire, where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A private burial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Evans City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Lucille’s name to VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler 16001.
