North Korea announced that they would be suspending missile testing ahead of the highly anticipated meeting with President Trump, and he responded from his Twitter account.
“This is very good news for North Korea and the World – big progress!” he added. “Look forward to our Summit.”
North Korea said through South Korea media Thursday that they would be suspending nuclear and ICBM tests after April 21.
The “hermit kingdom,” as it is often referred, had been threatening its neighbors with belligerent statements defending the government’s right to test and expand their nuclear missile capabilities.
President Trump had sought the help of China to quell the growing threat, but then announced that he would be meeting with Kim Jong Un personally to discuss the possibility of “denuclearization” of the Korean peninsula.
